COLA is proud to offer the 1st Virtual Winter Lecture Series of four complimentary lectureships for healthcare professionals to enjoy. COLA’s Virtual Winter Lecture Series will provide a platform for industry thought leaders to share ideas on relevant topics in clinical laboratory science. In addition, the series will give a glimpse into the new perspectives and depth of knowledge sharing at COLA’s Annual Laboratory Enrichment Forum.

February Lecture Series: Digital Pathology: Past, Present, and Future
The lecture will focus on the advancements and benefits of digital pathology. We will discuss the barriers to successful implementation and the remarkable possibilities resulting from the use of digital pathology and Artificial Intelligence.

January Lecture Series: Onboarding Molecular Diagnostic Testing: What you need to know before you start.
Molecular diagnostic testing has revolutionized the way clinical and public health laboratories diagnose diseases and track its progression. Molecular tests are utilized with increasing frequency and have supplanted numerous conventional tests, in many areas of laboratory medicine including oncology, infectious diseases, and clinical genetics. The lecture will address quality management in molecular testing and the various nuisances of molecular methodologies used in the clinical laboratory space, as well as an overview of some practical applications. December Lecture Series: It Takes Two: Relationship of the Laboratory Director and Technical Consultant
The brief lecture will address the synergy necessary between the technical consultant and laboratory director. The lecture will offer suggestions on how to develop and maintain this vital relationship. The laboratory director and technical consultant must function as a team in order to deliver quality laboratory services to patients. The speaker for this lecture series is Kathy Nucifora, MPH, MT (ASCP).

November Lecture Series: Pulling together the pieces, the role of the clinical laboratory director
The short lecture will focus on the important role of the laboratory director, including the responsibilities and personnel interaction necessary for a successful and efficient quality assessment program.The speaker for this lecture series is Verlin K. Janzen, MD, FAAFP.
