Using Performance Standards for Performance Verification and Quality Control (CLR07)

Description
Using Performance Standards for Performance Verification and Quality Control is a microlearning session developed from the 2023 Laboratory Enrichment Forum. It details how to properly verify the manufacturer’s performance specifications for new test methods challenges many laboratorians. One common question is how to determine whether the data obtained is acceptable. The course highlights how to identify situations where excluding data in performance verification studies is appropriate. Learners will benefit from an in-depth discussion of applying performance standards to performance verification and applying performance standards to quality control.

Learning Objectives:
• Understand how to use performance standards to evaluate assay accuracy and precision.
• Identify situations where it is appropriate to exclude data in performance verification studies.
• Recognize proper selection of samples for reportable range studies.
• Understand how to use performance standards to set acceptable ranges for quality controls.
