In this complimentary live webinar which will be recorded, you will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits and practical details of COLA’s Pathology Accreditation Program. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and California’s Laboratory Field Services (LFS) have approved COLA to accredit laboratories performing the specialty of pathology, including the subspecialties of histopathology, oral pathology and cytology. Joining COLA’s Director of Pathology Accreditation will be COLA’s Chief Medical Officer. Together, they will address the following topics:
• The Benefits of COLA accreditation
• Eligibility for Accreditation
• Tips to Prepare for a Survey
• Overview of the COLA Checklist
• Open discussion Audience: Professionals responsible for CLIA compliance activities in the following settings:
• Independent pathology groups • Limited pathology services such as frozen section only pathology service.
• Cytology laboratories
• Dermatopathology laboratories • Mohs micrographic surgery centers
• Urology practices performing in-office testing
• Gastroenterology practices performing in-office testing
The session is appropriate to the various CLIA roles in the organization, including the Laboratory Director, Clinical Consultant and Technical Supervisor. Independent technical consultants advising laboratories performing the specialty of pathology are encouraged to attend the webinar to learn more about COLA’s pathology program as an educational-oriented option for accreditation.
